Mrs. Brock's kindergarten class earned a marble party for showing kindness and respect. They made slime, played games, made mini pizzas, and did a science experiment making their own snowflakes! Way to make MVG proud by being kind, respectful, hard workers🐯

Laura Payne, the Mountain View-Gotebo Yearbook Sponsor received a $4193.80 Classroom Enhancement Grant from Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation Oklahoma City, OK. The grant will be used to support the project, Through a New Lens, which will allow MVG to provide educational opportunities that expand its students’ horizons in the field of photography by purchasing a new Mirrorless Camera for the yearbook staff and AG Communication class. MVGs Yearbook Staff and FFA Ag Communication Class are embarking on a journey of collaboration through photography and journalism. With the use of new cameras and sport/action lenses our students will be able to capture high-quality images that are essential for creating a visually stunning yearbook and AG Communication articles for the newspaper and school brochures. “We are so pleased to have received this grant and appreciate the support of the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation,” says the school’s superintendent Brett Banker. Because technology is ever changing. In the field of photography DSLR have been the standard since the late 1990s. In the past few years mirrorless cameras have emerged and are replacing DSLRs and they are becoming harder and harder to come by making some of our older equipment obsolete and hard to replace. By purchasing new Mirrorless cameras for our yearbook staff to use in conjunction with our Ag Communication class our students will have access to modern photography equipment. This will allow them to learn to use new equipment and practice professional photography skills. Having mirrorless cameras will improve the overall quality of photographs in the yearbook and articles by utilizing the advanced features of a mirrorless camera. A mirrorless camera will provide superior image quality, versatility, and ease of use compared to our current equipment, significantly enhancing the visual impact of our yearbook. Additionally, this camera will offer students hands-on experience with advanced photography techniques, helping them develop skills that are valuable in both academic and professional contexts. The Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation The Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation was established in 1995 by the late Carolyn Watson, CEO and chairman of Shamrock Bank, N.A. Since its establishment, the Foundation has provided more than $3.8 million to schools, charitable organizations, and state and local government entities working to improve the quality of life in rural Oklahoma communities. Grants are administered by the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. For more information, visit www.occf.org/rural. The Oklahoma City Community Foundation Founded in 1969, the Oklahoma City Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity that works with individuals, families, and organizations to create charitable funds benefiting our community both now and in the future. We make the biggest impact when we join together to address important issues. To learn more about the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, visit www.occf.org.
