Congrats to 7th graders Ariel Walker and Landrie Sechrist for being accepted to SWOSU SAGE STEAM Camp this summer: The Southwest Alliance for Girls' Enrichment in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts / Humanities, and Mathematics (SAGE STEAM) Camp is a week-long residential program held on SWOSU’s Weatherford campus each summer. Students get hands-on experience in science experiments, technology applications, design and building, writing reflections, and math applications while interacting with other girls like them.

This past weekend, Team 2373 “The Crickets of Caddo-Kiowa” with MVG owns Malachi Dresselhaus competed in the Green Country Regional held in Tulsa. This competition featured 47 robotics teams from 6 states as well as international teams from Mexico, Columbia, Australia, Belize, Barbados, and South Africa. The Crickets went on to be ranked 7th in offensive rating, and were later selected to the number one overall alliance in the playoffs. Unfortunately, their alliance came up short during the final matches of the tournament after one of their alliance members received a red card, ending the Crickets’ deep playoff run. This season marks the final year for head coach Rhett Morgan(MVG 4th grade teacher Angela Lasley's dad) who successfully lead the Crickets valiantly for the past 16 seasons.
“We are deeply proud of our students for their exemplary display of perseverance and tenacity in the face of adversity, and are extremely thankful for Rhett’s hard work, leadership, and devotion to the team and students.” – Reed Allen
We look forward to what the future holds for Team 2373!
